Hello!

I’m Marisol Rives.

I help children become confident, capable learners by strengthening the foundational skills that reading, communication, and learning are built on.

With over 8 years of experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist and 10 years in early childhood education, I blend clinical knowledge with a deep understanding of how young children grow and thrive.

As a mother of two young children, I bring a personal, real-world perspective to my work. I understand that today’s children need more than academic support, they need guidance in social-emotional awareness, self-advocacy, and learning how to understand and respond to their own needs. I emphasize helping children tune into their bodies, build self-awareness, and confidently navigate their world.

I view each child as a unique individual with their own strengths and potential. This belief shapes both my professional approach and my role as a parent, continually deepening and strengthening my clinical practice.

I have extensive experience supporting children from infancy through age 11, providing individualized, thoughtful care that gets to the heart of each child’s needs. My goal is to help your child build the skills, and the confidence, for lifelong success.

My Approach

With advanced training in literacy, executive functioning, and speech and language, I take a comprehensive, whole-child approach to every session. My work goes beyond surface-level skills—I focus on understanding how each child processes language and information, allowing me to identify the root of what may be impacting their progress.

This depth of expertise allows me to support underlying challenges such as language processing, attention, and essential communication skills. By targeting these core areas, I help children make meaningful, lasting progress in reading, learning, and overall confidence.

My Professional Education Background

Lindamood-Bell Trainings

I have completed training in Visualizing and Verbalizing®, Seeing Stars®, and LiPS®. This specialized coursework informs my assessment process by helping me evaluate a child’s sensory-cognitive processing and how it impacts their reading development and acquisition skills.

RAVE-O

I have completed Modules 1 and 2 of RAVE-O (Retrieval, Automaticity, Vocabulary, Engagement–Orthography), a comprehensive reading program that integrates strategic instruction across key components of literacy development. This training supports my work with students in grades 1–5 by strengthening reading fluency, vocabulary, and overall language comprehension.

Seeds of Learning

I integrate the Seeds of Learning® SEFF  approach into my therapy practice, focusing on building underlying cognitive and executive function skills to support student growth.

Sensory Certificate Course

I’ve completed Level 1 and Level 2 sensory training for speech-language pathologists, which has deepened my understanding of regulation and sensory processing. This advanced training enhances my ability to assess and treat children with a more comprehensive, individualized approach.
